This is a test set designed specifically for military tranceivers.  I'm hoping it can be used for more radios than are listed in the manual.

Will work with: PT-25A (but not PT-25 or PT-25A below s/n C101), PT-25E, URC-100, URC-101, URC-104, URC-110, URC-111.

The test set has no provision for a battery or AC power, it can only be powered from the radio under test.

Test Reports

In the back of the manual there are a number of film "test reports", one for each type of radio.

The rough side of the film can be used with a pencil to indicate any tests that fail.  Once all the tests have been completed the "test report" can be overlaid on a number of the charts in the troubleshooting section of the manual.  If a match is found then the root cause of the problem has been identified.

Test Y Cable

Y-Cable the single connector end (MS 3116F-14-19S) has 19 sockets and mates with the front panel A-Mode & Handset connector.
The double end has a standard U-229 military audio connector (U-229 Pin Out) and a MS 3116F-14-19P.  Note that the two multipin connectors are the same except one has pins and the other has sockets, they can not mate because both have similar shells.

The name of the LST-5 axillary antenna amplifier is very similar to the name of this test set and they were both made by Motorola.
