Background
This is a battery go-nogo tester for the BB-390/B or BB-2590/U
rechargable batteries. It works by discharging the battery where
the internal fan and load are driven by the battery under test then by
pressing the Recall button (while the discharged battery is still
connected) the status LED turns Green, Amber or Red depending on
battery capacity. The Recall function is powered by an internal
123 photo battery.
I'd rather have an Amp Hour digital display than the three color LED,
but the LED is a much lower cost solution.
Operation
The PP-8496 will not work on batteries
that do not have the temperature sensor contacts.
It also will not work on primary (BA- series) batteries because the
plug has the mechanical keying to prevent connection to
primary battery connectors.
