Saw this on eBay for $40 from seller east_sector. The interesting thing was the Off-Volume control even though there in only a U-229 type audio connector. So expected the center pin (F) to be a DC input. But that's not what it is. This speaker was designed to work with the VIC-3 intercom system, not radios. That explains the OFF-Volume knob and lack of internal amplifier.

Description

This is a passive loudspeaker with an OFF (DC open) and volume control (quiet is 535 Ohms and loud is the 5 Ohm speaker).
